A graduate in Visual communication from the prestigious Loyola college, Chennai,  he started his career, assisting National award winning director V K Prakash at Trends Ad films on multiple national and international brands. He went ahead to become the associate director in some of his hugely successful Malayalam films such as 'Beautiful', 'Trivandrum Lodge', 'Gulumal', etc 

 

He turned independent in feature films with the first ever 'stoner film' in India, 'Kili Poyi'  (Thanks to a leading news paper for the credit) His second film is a  retro-heist film. 'Kohinoor', which fared well at the box office and also has evergreen melodies which was a huge hit in Kerala. The recent release of his is 'Get-set baby', a heartfelt dramedy discussing a very relevant social issue. His films are wacky and out of the box and in diverse genres. Vinay is currently working on his new feature film titled 'Thaaram' in Malayalam starring Nivin Pauly. 

 

He’s good with finding a rare comic flare into most of his works and can write effectively even in the middle of the night when you wake him up and has co written his debut film and also lyrics for feature films and music bands as well.  He's someone who  habitually  does his paper work to the T  before hitting the floor. 

 

He shuttles between  Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi for his ad and feature works  and wherever he works, he makes that his base camp in no time with ease.  He is right now scripting for his feature films along with making ads.

 

Trivia: He has sung the much loved title track of 'Kili poyi', along with music director Rahul Raj,  because he was the director’s obvious choice...!
